5-Ingredient Air Fryer Salmon with Maple Soy Glaze

by Сашка

This Air Fryer Salmon recipe with a maple soy glaze is one of my favorite salmon recipes! Quick and easy with just five ingredients!

Air Fryer Salmon

I’m obsessed with this air fryer salmon recipe because it so quick and delicious! Cooking salmon in an air fryer results in the most tender, juicy fish, and it’s so quick and easy too! The maple soy glaze is delicious, made with just 4 ingredients; pure maple syrup, sriracha, soy sauce and garlic. The best part, this couldn’t be easier, let the fish marinate 10 to 15 minutes if you have the time, then air fry for 6 to 8 minutes. This is my favorite air fryer salmon recipe, but when I want something with a different flavor profile, I also love this Chili Lime Air Fryer Salmon, Air Fryer Salmon Bites, and this Parmesan Salmon. And if salmon isn’t your thing, check out all my other air fryer recipes.

Variations:

I never order salmon in a restaurant because I know it comes out so much better when I make it myself, especially if I make it in the air fryer. This air fryer salmon is marinated with Asian flavors, but you can keep it simple! Try:

  • Salmon seasoned with salt and black pepper and finished with fresh squeezed lemon over it to keep it simple.
  • Play around with different spices on you salmon like Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, etc.
  • Try honey in place of maple syrup in this recipe.

If you don’t have an air fryer but want to cook this salmon in the oven, try this baked version. Or this Sheet Pan Salmon, along with any of these healthy salmon recipes.

Featured CommentI love how quickly this comes together–plus, it’s delicious! Even my husband (who is generally NOT a fan of salmon) thought it was great and said he’d definitely eat it again. Win!– Tracy270 More Comments

How to cook salmon in the air fryer

Here’s the step-by-step directions to make this easy air fryer salmon recipe. See recipe card below for the printable directions.

5-Ingredient Air Fryer Salmon with Maple Soy Glaze

Marinate the salmon with maple soy marinade.

Let it marinate 10 to 15 minutes, then reserve marinade.

Air fry the salmon 400F about 8 minutes.

  1. If the salmon is frozen, thaw overnight in the fridge or place the sealed fish in a large bowl of cold water, until the fish thaws, about 15 minutes.
  2. Cut the salmon filet into four even pieces or buy pre-cut filets and marinade them with maple syrup, sriracha, garlic and soy sauce 15 to 20 minutes. If you don’t have time to marinate it, don’t worry 5 minutes will still be delicious! You can keep the skin on or remove it if you wish.
  3. Then spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray or use air fryer parchment paper (with holes) to prevent sticking and place it in the air fryer.
  4. Remove the fish from the marinade and reserve.
  5. There is no need to preheat the air fryer. Air fry the salmon 400F about 6-8 minutes, depending on the thickness or 2 minutes longer if you like it well done.
  6. While it’s in the air fryer, take the marinade and reduce it into a glaze in a skillet over medium-low heat 1 to 2 minutes that will pour over the salmon at the end. Top it with scallions or sesame seeds, if you wish – it’s delish!

What to serve with air fryer salmon

I like to serve salmon with brown rice and a salad or veggie such as roasted asparagus, broccoli, bok choy or brussels sprouts.

Helpful Tips to Air Fry Salmon

  • Spray the basket with a propellant-free oil or use air fryer parchment to prevent the skin from sticking to the basket.
  • There’s no need to pre-heat to air fryer.
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket so you get decent air flow.
  • There is no need to flip the salmon, it will cook on both sides fine.
  • To know if salmon is ready, the fish will change from translucent (red or raw) to opaque (pink) as it cooks. Check for doneness after 6 to 8 minutes of cooking, by peeking into the thickest part with a sharp knife or fork. It should flake, but still has a little translucency in the center when it’s done.

How To Store

Refrigerate leftover salmon in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
